Propane and mesquite chips wrapped in some tinfoil and vented a little bit. You'd be amazed at what that mesquite does to meat....ahhhh....:drool::drool:

Unless you enjoy doing it midnight, you're not grilling/bbqing. You're just cooking.

:grinno:

you say its fun waiting for the grill to heat
well your forgetting
when the grill is heated
it still takes time to cook

1st min its heated
3rd min food is done

Charcoal ONLY! I hate the taste of propane on my food. As said, grilling takes time. Besides, that gives you the chance to get a few beers ahead of the game! Who couldn't enjoy standing around the grill throwing down cold ones? Hell, I do it even if I'm just cooking for myself or me and my wife.

Too bad I don't drink anymore that sounds so good right now, but alcohol+me=scubasteve in the pond, forget the bathtub...

I CAN taste the propane. Trust me. Your taste buds may not be the same as mine, but I'm telling you I can taste it. You can't drink beer around propane because you don't have time to drink it, remember, 1st min heated, 3rd min cooked? You don't have time to talk with your boys and put down 3 or 4 beers before propane's ready, I do. Mostly, though, I can taste the gas, and don't like it.

You're on the right track I think the same way!

You can also take time to prepare the food while the coals heat.

It becomes more of an event when using charcoal. If you don't want to make it an event, then stick with "cooking" on gas. I'll continue to enjoy "grilling":)

Midnight turns his steak into beef jerkey anyway, so that pretty much makes his grilling argument null and void hahaha.
