Chatuchak Bangkok - More fish than you can imagine

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm not to familiar on species of Datnoid so I'm unsure of what a "NTT" is. However I can ask and do a little research so I know. I think they aren't to expensive, maybe $20 (extremely estimated).

Yes please share!
There's one in my avatar. I had him for about 2 years before he died.

And there's a nice NTT in the first group of pics you posted. I'd love to get a big guy like this one

I don't mean to threadjack here but there are a few vendors here in the states that now have some nice sized NTT..some of them are close to ten inches. They might be a far cheaper option to having a few shipped from overseas.I'm not sure where Taco Bell is lol!

Yeah I know... But from what I remember of my time at that market, big NTTs cost about 500-600 Baht (that's roughly $17-$20). Even if shipping is let's say $200, if I can find enough nice ones, it would be totally worth it to me. I saw 200 gallon tanks full of big 10-12" datnoids. I'm planning to upgrade to a 500 gallon wide tank soon and I want to have 7-8 tigers. I would sell some to datnoid addict friends near me to cover the shipping costs. I don't know, but just seeing all those cool fish there made me want to bring home a bunch of them!

I see your point...Big NTT look as impressive as ST.

Here's a video I took of an Asian Arowana store at Chatuchak market. Just a warning though, the video quality isn't so good.

Someone brought up the idea of bringing cheap big NTTs from thailand before, being a hobbyist they were told about how you need an import export licesnse from both countries, that big dats dont ship well, and that the overall cost of getting even like 10 large NTTs to the US would far exceed 200$. Shipping big dats like any other fish as far as ive been told on here doesnt work too well

Nothing loike asian fish markets! Keep it up, please. I could seempix of those markets for hours.

I was in Hong kong and it was the worst torture, i think i even had a fiever, seeing all those fish and knowing you avnnot take one into the plane qith you.

Give us more Channas, please!

take the pics when they dont see you, and use a smartphone instead. haha we would like to see those exotic fish u mentioned. :)

Haha ok well I actually use my phone anyways and I will try! A couple examples of the exotics I'm thinking of are paddlefish, sturgeon, and what I believe to be a platinum silver arowana. I don't know how exotic they really are but I always have liked them! And I think depending on the season certain fish are available because they had plenty of paddlefish in the Fall but now I haven't seen even one besides that platinum one I shared earlier.

Yeah I've never asked but they seem to run at around that price. Is that just a Datnoid? Are there different kinds? If you are willing to pay the price I can attempt to ship them to you. But I think for the huge cost it may be a little risky for things to be messed up in the shipping, laws, etc. But I have always wanted to export so maybe this is a good time to start. Maybe Private Message me to talk further? I don't know how this forum is with buy/selling.
