Currently looking for a way to make a cheap cave/cover to reduce some aggression in my 75, currently my fem GT and firemouth have some small spats (nothing harmful) and then lately my biggest sen has decided he should attack the smaller two cuz he's just a jerk, I know PVC is an option but I'm hoping anybody has some ideas that are a bit more natural looking, thanks

Grab a wire mesh shape to a cave and put some rocks and plants.

go outside, pick up some flat rocks, boil them or scrub them really good and stack them into a cave. if your worried about the fish knocking them over use a little silicon between the rocks.

Hey NC,

You're creative...could you get some rocks or slate and build your own cave structure? That's what I did with stuff I found in my yard :) If you don't have anything around, most any landscape store will have damaged or loose rocks you can haul away.

One of our local club members has her own business making caves. I assume it's OK to post her site here. It may give you some ideas if you decide to make something less structural: www.plecocaves.com

Slates always good.

true, I guess slate and silicone might be the best way to go, thanks everyone

definitely checking out that plecocaves site though, looks legit

Darn tootin, stream beds are where I'm always finding the good free stuff.

I know the photo quality is pretty rough, but here's what I did with just a few rocks. The Cichlids love it too :)

What I heard was good was a flower pot top side down with a cave like crack in the side.
