Would It be cheaper to build a 600 gallon tank or to buy one for 2200?
(This is related to the thread in buy/sell)

Just asking because
I know it is cheaper but I am not sure if i start a project, put alot of money into
it, and then see if I will be able to finish it.

Also, Is it better to get acrylic from glasscages? Anyone ever try this?

Name Description Price (per square inch)
1/8" Thickness is actually 0.118 $0.02
3/16" Thickness is actually 0.177 $0.03
1/8" black Thickness is actually 0.118 - Black $0.035
¼" Thickness is actually 0.220 $0.035
¼" black Thickness is actually 0.220 - Black $0.05
3/8" Thickness is actually 0.354 $0.07
½" Thickness is actually 0.472 $0.09
Acrylic Cement 1 ½ oz. Clear Thick Acrylic Cement

yes you should build it. it would say you some $$$$$$$$$. i'm not sure about ordering acrylic from glasscages.com. good luck with this.

would a 1 inch thick 4 ft by 8 ft acrylic sheet for 307 dollars be a reasonable price?

how tall is the tank.

8X4X30" = 598 Gallons.... 2 full sheets and some of a 3rd for bracing $921 vs 2200.... mmmmmm I think I would build my own LMAO and have enough left over to build a sump ;)
there you go.

That's a hell of a price actually. I'd jump all over that. Oh, and order a few for me ;)

uh lol nope its from a local. Actually, it was the only store selling acrylic

Actually, Im not sure if I am getting a 600 because I want to build a tank the size of the garage I am moving into. So, Im not sure exactly how big it is but Im pretty sure it is bigger than 8 feet

How do i know how thick the glass has to be?
