lost a 2" clown loach, found the poor bastard dried up in my bucket. must've been hiding in the ornament i removed. feeling rather guilty especially seeing as he probably came from the other side of the world!
When i was moving I had two good size loaches hide in some drift wood, checked it out before I put it in the bucket, but by the time I realized they were in there (driving across the city in snow, with the wood in the back of a truck) they were a little cold.
when I move planted driftwood, seems like I always pick up a stray yo-yo loach or small pleco . . . I always keep the piece I've removed in a container with at least 1" of water, and I have several times found somebody swimming in that water when I go to put it back . . .
after placing a stone archway ornament into my tank i had not checked it was seated correctly in the gravel, there was a small gap that one of my african dwarf frogs managed to get into, months later after taking the ornament out of the tank i found his bones,,
we all thought he had escaped through a gap in the lid
I thought you were an idiot until a few days ago when I took out all my decorations and put them in my bucket... turns out I caught 2 small chichlids in something along the way. Fortunatly they had just enough water to not dry out durring the water change.
