I think your tank is over stocked it's kind of like shoving 10 pounds of crap in to a 5 pound bag if you ask me
the thing about pacus is they need over 300gal tanks just to act normal. otherwise they go nuts and just fly around the tank smacking into stuff i have heard people having great sucess with them in 600 gallons and on another site these people had like a 2500 gallon wall tank and had some pacus in it.
