check out the fish high way

I think the concept of that water bridge is awesome. I would love to be able to connect a few tanks which are a few feet apart from one another.

Project for the future? :grinyes:

I dont know bout having the "fish highway" above a tank, I could see having it connect two tanks at like mid level.

I can just Imagine how hard it could be to clean if say a fish died up in that thing.

I have an idea for that. Use a canister filter, have the intake in one tank and the output in the other. The water will flow through the bridge and move anything stuck in there. Well it all depends on the GPH of the filter and the weight of the fish.

Now that I think about it would be better to use a strong pump in the same way. But you might want to use the canister filter that way regardless.

I would like to do that but my tanks are different heights... I think that if I had one that it might "equalize and flood my floor.

With the lowered water level in the 210 it might work out.....just a thought

Both tanks would have to be the same height. I'm not worried about it. I'll just overcompensate and get a HUGE tank. That should work.

Pretty neat, but I don't think I'd want to chance it in my house.
Well Maybe just a short distance.

An easy way to get the air out of the tube and the water in is to place the tube in its position and just stick a hose up into the highest part of the tube and start sucking air out of it. As the air is pulled out, the water will move to where the air once was. You would have to add water as you do this also. This is a very stable idea and you really have very little chance of it draining unless your water gets below the level of the tube that in in the tanks. My dad had a big half circle tube for a 10 gallon tank and that is how he filled it.

Quite simple really.

A quote from his FAQ- Why doesn't the water spill out of the highway?
The highway tube is completely sealed except for the openings at each end which are submerged below the tank water levels. Like a large drinking straw, when the air is sucked out of the tube the water rises inside it and will stay there unless you let the air back in.
