Long Island
At the local pond, we have been investigating the rumors of monsters in the pond...so we got all "Jeremy Wade" and did some fishing there. Day one, we pulled two enormous snapping turtles and some bluegills and pumpkinseeds. Day two another turtle which looked like a map turtle and some Brown Bullhead catfish. Day three, a huge butterfly Koi which is one of at least three in that pond. Day four another snapping turtle, more bullheads, and a huge gold carp. And to top it off something has been snapping our lines and took off with the bluegill we left live on the hook for bait. We brought home a baby Bullhead which is doing great in our tank and some baby tadpoles and also a baby american eel, all of which are doing great.

This is in mastic, long island, ny...all we did was throw some bread and seen how fast it was gobbled up so we put it on our hooks with a bobber and we were getting bites as fast as we casted out...unfortunately the snappers took the bait too and we had to fight with them to get the hook out, but everything was safely released back into the pond. I've been taking pictures of every catch to fully know what's going on in there. Just yesterday I seen a shape swim up along the bushes and from what I seen it looked like a huge pacu. I also heard there are largemouth bass in there as well...this pond is amazingly full of life. If there is really a pacu then there's no telling what else because its obvious that people have been dumping pet fish in there...but I like it the way it is I hope nothing changes about this pond...I just enjoy feeding them and checking it out...thanks guys for the comments ;-)
