from the vent shots they both look female, could you get vent shots with you holding them upside down and not laying down, the first one im pretty sure is female but Gilbert's vent is kind of squished... (im definitely not an expert though i have only vented a few of my fish and its definitely easier to tell in person than through a pic)

they both started out as orange and over time they lost all of their color. i love the white coloring.
