I was talking more the fact that they are that hungry, I'd be they aren't being fed enough, which is why they are eating the way they are. Some of them do look quite thin if you look just behind the pectoral fins you will see that the stomach isn't full like it should be for a good healthy pleco.

Aside from some of them looking thin, i wouldent assume that they arent being fed enough due to thier aggressive eating display. You normally wouldent see such behavior when feeding, but when you have a crapload of different plecs in the same tank, they become very competitive and are more aggressive during feeding time. Ive got the same type of situation of an overstocked pleco tank with various species, all of which are growing at healthy rates and are looking very very healthy and ive had them for over a year. I feed twice a day and turn off the filters when i do. When i turn off the filters, its as if someone blew a whistle for feeding time and they all go nuts scurying all over the floor. They eat very quickly as thier natural competitiveness gets kicked into over-drive.

Although my tank is pretty damn overstocked, its not nearly as nuts as this vid, i would bet and be fairly confident that many will die in the long term.

at the same time im always thinking, the people with that kind of dedication of plecos, all of which are exotics, a lot of money is in that, and i doubt they dont know what they are doing. could be wrong though. overstocking brings out completely different behaviour in plecos.

clicking the filters off is cool. my fish recognise the sound of the lid coming off as feeding time, same reaction. is pretty cool

exactly my tought... it could be a 3m tank with all the plecs in one place during diner.

I really dont think its a large tank. That density is way too extreme and plecs wont do it no matter how hungry they are. There are some in the backround just chillin and not even seeming like they are after food. It might be a large tank, but just ridiculously overstocked. Im with MilitantPotato, although its a startiling sight, its really more sad.

ah the guy is from taiwan. they love their plecos over there as much as anyone lol. i looked at the other videos, and i still think they look healthy. what he has done is gone for a big piece of bogwood and no hiding places, which will stop agression so much, which allows him to have so many plecos. there are a couple of non feeding vids and it doesnt look so hectic. but now i KNOW, i will agree there is just a large population tank in not a small tank, but a tank that is small for the amount of plecos. sometimes this will work. id be suprised if they all ended up dead though. if water quality is kept fine, they should be fine. they are probably fed a lot too, but hey thats speculation. not the way i would do things, but each to his own. he has some very good looking plecos in there, and a few expensive ones too

Yeah, I just looked at some of the other vids. I have seen some people do way more overstocking than that, but with a good feeding regiment, and a LOT of waterchanges it can be done.

or have the tank on a drip system, then no water changes and perfect water. just a pain for vaccuum cleaning
