i can just see the difference between the first picture you posted and the second.
mine was an extream case as i thought ide killed mine, honestly they went stiff and did not move like they were dead. i managed to bring them back.
if yours isnt "melted pattern" then you truly have a unique ray.
ide love to see it again in a few months after perfect water and good food.
just checked it again and im sure the pattern has melted in the second pic.

loads of water changes, salt and prayed to god! all you can do is keep water perfect and stress to a minimum.
no lights and left them alone as much as i could between WC`s.
