possible the only one in the states right now. It is eating baby ball pythons and medium corn snakes (sorry if this offends anyone but they are readily available...) It is Calliophis bivirgata, or the long-glanded coral snake.
it is a fossorial elapid and it is REALLY unhealthy to feed them rodents and almost impossible to get them to eat them(as is with the local coral snakes). I think he is going to start tube feeding him a mixture of calcium and other vitamins and lizard eventually.
As for how he got it, He is doing a lot of venom research and so he went over seas while filming a show for Nat Geo and collected them to bring back and use. I dont know all the details but either way, I am jealous!
