Second if that is a delicate snake, its healty and it eats corns and bp WHY tube feed him? That will just stress her out and possibly cause her demise. Arent like other snakes a complete food for it?
Hummmm...I remenbar reading something about that anatomical particularity, I see. As for the expense well, he could get some corn snake pairs and breed them, thats what I would do, better then risking losing the snake for some handling mistake or stress. Does he has more then one? Breeding?snakeguy101;4278104; said:yes but as so many others have mentioned, it can become expensive. Local coral snakes are just as delicate and difficult and have been kept in captivity on tube feeding for years.
Also, I believe that it is called the long glanded coral snake for its venom glands that run half the length of the body. The 100 pacer is Deinagkistrodon acutus.

OHHHH ok, I though it was just a display animal. Then I gess that makes sence.snakeguy101;4280063; said:well he has to handle it and stress it out since the snake is being used for venom research. I would imagine that the snake will be fed after each milking.... He only has one of these guys but he also has a bunch of other rare fossorial elapids so I am sure he knows what he is doing.
