WESTERN MASS
I went over to Eastern New York this weekend trying to catch what I consider a hybrid type of bluegill. I usually catch them in the springtime. I couldn't find any where I usually find them. So I tried another Lake real close that I new head them. In this Lake there are redbreast pumpkin seeds normal bluegill. Once I did see a dead northern long year but that is the only one I ever saw. My guess is they are cross between a redbreast of bluegill what do you think?

looks like a pumpkinseed

Yup

Missing the dorsal spot you'd see in a bluegill, lacks the longear of a longear and redbreast and has too much cheek vermiculations for a redbreast to boot.

I'd say pumkinseed all that way.

100% pumpkinseed no type of hybrid.
