I lost a nice ray to an unattended water change in my old 300. I came back downstairs and the ray was stuck to the bottom of the python. The python was directly over the eyes and gills. That was a bad day.

amazing. i got home from work, he's perky/ alert/ pissed to be in the critter carrier. head looks 75% better. only a little pink, so i put him back in the population of the 180. he's swimming around like normal. i'm shocked. a human wouldn't survive what that fish went through in a similar situation. so the little bastard lives to fight another day and jump into my sump constantly. business as usual. i'm going to feed the tank in a bit and make sure he goes for food.

I had a similar situation involving a powerhead..... my bichir pulled through.. im sure yours will too!

Mine's head was not nearly as red as that, but it should recover with some time
