I occassionally feed chicken breast (minus skin and fat)to my arowanas,
I noticed that they seem to love this more than market prawn and some fish.
Anybody here feed chicken breast. currently considering if i can feed this to them once a week, or maybe even twice a week?
whats your experience on this?

Well they do eat birds in the wild

Joey.. thats new(s) to me.. :)

@batang - avoid it.. yes i've heard of people feeding their aros chicken meat.. but i really doubt they do that in the wild.. their documented feeding includes insects and fish.. so please stick to it.. the other reason is its not their natural diet and they might have trouble digesting it.. if you are looking for protein for your aros.. then prob try egg whites.. i do it like once a month..

im sure a very lucky aro gets a bird every once in a while in the wild. Even the sun sun shines on a dogs behind. but i agree with kaya I would stay away. No need when aros will eat so many other things

what kind of egg whites? hard boiled?

@kaya, just curious , is it ok to feed them cooked food?
won't it be messy?

i dont know what ideas you have about cooked food.. :D i've just tried boiled eggs.. two things.. first thing is prob thinking about loss of nutrients.. yes there should be some loss.. we eat cooked food and we get the nutrients.. so i guess it should be ok.. second is the quality of water.. remove asap the uneaten food.. dont even leave it for an hour.. especially with eggs.. i hope this is what you wanted to ask and i've answered the same.. if not.. just let me know mate..

Thanks Was thinking about the eggs, as I've been told that cooking removes much of the nutrients, but thats for Mussles, as I boild mussles a little to open the shell,
will try to see if my asian aros will accept egg white.
