Nice birds!

I'm also a city-chicken keeper. I was the first in my neighborhood, and now three of my neighbors have chickens. It's like a virus:D!

Please keep us posted!

So are they able to sex them at such a young age so you know you are buying females?

Yup. Hatcheries have trained "sexers" that sex the chickens a few hours after they hatch. This can range from the color of the feathers, growth of the feathers, or by pushing the sexual organs out of the chick's vent. (Vent sexing is most common). Mine were sexed as hens, which is what I got. I'll need to take some pics when I get back from the beach, which is where I'm at. I'm expecting eggs within 2-3 weeks. A non-chicken expert would think my Rhode island hens are roosters, their combs got huge and red within a month.

Got my first egg yesterday when I got back from the beach. It was a perfect little brown egg. Can't wait for my second! :D

Do they come out scrambled or fried? :D

Haha, I still eat plenty of chicken since it's better than beef. I might take some more pictures today, that is unless they think the camera is hungry for chicken, lol.
