UPDATE-

I finally got this girl to eat!!!

:nilly::headbang2:thumbsup::woot::clap

Last night was the first meal I've seen her eat. I got her to eat a chunk of salmon that was about one cubic inch. She wouldn't take a second chunk.

Its a start!

Also, I've finally decided on a name. As this fish is a devil catfish, I wanted a demon name for her. Since it's a dwarf goonch, I wanted the name of a minor demon. I recently read the book God's Demon by Wayne Douglas Barlow, one of the characters in which was Ardat Lili. She was a minor demon and the handmaiden to Lilith. The name also works because in the book, Ardat would sneak around stealthily all the time. This fish hides constantly. The name seemed right.

In normal conversation when referrring to this fish, I call her Dot or Dottie. That also works because she's covered in spots.

what other food did you try before salmon? and how is she adapting to the blackwster set-up?

Tilapia and catfish.

She seems to be fine in the blackwater, no obvious stress. She just refused to eat for me. I've always had trouble getting goonches to eat for some reason though.

hmm this one was deffinately more of a picky eater than my yarelli never got her to eat anything but shrimp (live or frozen) and massivore every now and then not nearly as active as my yarreli either

I rearranged the tank a bit today so that as Dottie hides, she can be seen. I wish the rest of my fish held perfectly still like her, it makes taking cell phone pictures actually possible lol.

Well I added some rocks to the tank yesterday to help control the current from my new 3000 gph filter. Turns out that was the best thing I've ever done for Dottie. She likes the rocks and doesn't try to hide anymore. She also immediately started to eat. I'm proud of this little girl!
