I just read a book (fictional) that took place in and around the okefenokee. Any gators ?

Sweet!
I love fossil hunting here in SW Fl on the world reknowned, Peace river.
I just potted 15 containers of 5 different veggies I germinated from seed, today.
Plan to run cattle or farm?
Here are my native, butterfly orchids, in bloom last June. View attachment 1355236 View attachment 1355237
Nice place you have. I live about 40 minutes west of savannah and see plenty of deer, not as many foxes, but see them sometimes.

How big is the property?

Good size! Have you checked out Meadowview biological research center?Nice orchid! There are epiphytic orchids that are supposed to be in my county, but I've never found any.
I don't plan to have any livestock.
Nice! You're practically my neighbor lol. Got tons of deer here too, and some leucistic squirrels. My wife and my boy see the foxes from time to time waiting on the bus in the morning, but these pics are the only time I've ever seen them.
Thank you! I grew up in this very neighborhood, and I had seen gators from time to time when I was younger, but it's been years since I saw one.
Eight whole acres![]()

We were down in your area around Christmas, took the kid down for the christmas train ride. We plan one going back when it's warmer.
I have! I've spoken with Dr. Sheridan a time or two as well. I work more closely with the North American Sarracenia Conservancy however, largely due to proximity. Their board members are all located quite a bit closer to me than are the Meadowview folks. I'm hoping to organize my efforts into a 501c3 akin to what Meadowview is doing, to accomplish the same type of goals farther south.
Good stuff! Was that for Nights of Lights in St Augustine?
No, it was a thing they do at the okeefenokee park in waycross, they have lights all over the woods and you ride a train through to see them.
