Chile earthquake may have shortened days

many a nano second has passed. still no response from MIT? It occurred to me that earth and the moon are accummulating dust and meteorites from space constantly. How is this increase in mass accounted for? being a larger object, the earth should be gathering more, therefore we should be pulling the moon into us right?

I shall not wait for a response to my email, I shall go closer to home. Since my restaurant is located on a university campus, it will take me but a day or so to find the people in this community who can answer the ?. I think one of my customers is in his graduate studies in physics, I will ask him on monday or tuesday and get him to email me his thoughts and then post them here. Will also see if he can get his profs to put forth their thoughts.
