Chile Earthquake

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sad thing is its my cousins babys christening today, which obviously is getting cancelled

=(

there 2 major earthquakes one in chile and one in japan that happened at almost the same day. dont think it will be as bad as Haiti because the one in chili happened 22 miles beneath the ground and i believe the one in japan was about 8 miles below ground. there are tsunami lookouts but nothing serious for now. public medias are over exagerating some of the stuff cnn and other news reported 40 meter high waves. another earthquake just hit argentina. looks like mother earth is giving birth to an new age....this is just the beginning.

Yes of course.. there are stable periods, and unstable periods. Its like clock work.
As long as the earth is in a state of hydrostatic equilibrium, we will see natural disasters. It is thought to be impossible for th earth to every be in true equilibrium, since there are so many variables acting on the earth.

The sad thing is that death tolls will be unprecedented in the soon coming future.

Whenever this happens i think about rebuilding. Obviously it can happen again but in most cases they rebuild in the same areas. Likely with better building codes but still, the threat remains.

Its interesting to think about how pavement and structures are the source of the damage. If an earthquake happens in an area uninhabited by humans there is really nothing to acknowledge. It really does keep humans in check.

4 more hours and it hits Hawaii. Just got off the phone with friends and family, they are all evacuating heading for higher ground. At least they have some notice but the gridlock must be insane!!!

Wow, thats crazy horrible!

Any word yet if it has hit Hawaii?

Funny, someone asked if global warming caused this earthquake. I lol'ed and was thinking people just don't stop. I'm surprised Bush wasn't blamed for it.
