It would be if it didn't kill everything in my tank. I'l give it away for free if someone comes and picks it upOnly 8 bucks? Nice!

Yeah I got it at a lfs in central fl. I went back today and he insisted on Chinese upside down catfish Haha. I'l most likely keep this guy for s month then get rid of him. Awesome appetite killed his tankmste however

It's more of him being in the shade lol. But reason I say wyckioides over wyckii with the adipose, if you look at a wyckii it's adipose usually isn't raise much higher than it's back if at all. It's much more streamlined vs wyckioides adipose sticking out from The back like most fish. Also seems to be a red tint the the tail but can't tell much since it's small lol
Yeah I got a positive I'd, for sure a ARTC. It was in a 55 with a young green Terror and a knifeCan you please be more specific, if you will? What city and what LFS?
Wow. Killed all tank mates already? What tank mates were they and what sizes? In what size tank?
Agree on the adipose fin difference but I'd say it is not nearly as dramatic. I'd gauge the difference at "noticeable". Also agree that this fish adipose looks more like ARTC or wyckioides. No $8 wyckii for me![]()
lol remember the easiest difference to look for is adipose and whiskers. I noticed I forgot to mention it, thought I did, but the whiskers in the specimen are also longer than that of wyckiiCan you please be more specific, if you will? What city and what LFS?

Yeah it had crazy long white whiskers while wyckii does not have white ones at all I believelol remember the easiest difference to look for is adipose and whiskers. I noticed I forgot to mention it, thought I did, but the whiskers in the specimen are also longer than that of wyckii
small wick can have white whiskers... its just theirs are a lot shorter lolYeah it had crazy long white whiskers while wyckii does not have white ones at all I believe
Best way is the whiskers and adipose since the red comes in at different times. And there is quite a size difference and growth rate difference in my little bit of experience.. neither slow but wyckioides much faster to 2' anywayWykii have a trademark white edge to the top of the tail and top fin although at 4” that might not have come through yet. And yes, they too have the white whiskers. Best way to tell will be any hint of red in that tail.
Either way, both are kept the same, have the same temprament and grow the same size essentially, at the same rate.
