choclate cichlids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My advise would be to go with a smaller CA cichlid like Convicts or Sajicas where a hides can be created for them to retreat to when things get a little crazy. I would go as far as to even reconsider keeping the GT with the grammodes. Grammodes can be some really nasty fish and do some serious dammage. You didn't mention the tank size so it's tuff to be specific but considering the full grown size of the Grammodes, Chocolates and GT's it would need to be a pretty large tank for these fish to have sufficent space to claim terratory and stay out of each others way. If you end up with a breeding pair of Grammodes all bets are off. I would also add adult Chocolates are some stunningly beautiful fish and it's really an injustice to them to be used as target fish. Convicts and their like on the other hand are much tuffer, hard as nails and are much better suited for this roll, not to mention their smaller size actually helps there chances of survival if they are given places to hide that the grammodes can't get into.

Did you read my last post of current stock? Btw,I will never own a convict. Just putting that out there

For whatever reason the last two pages of your thread didn't show up when I was reading it, so I answered based on the 1st page only. After I posted the last two pages were visable to me. So yes I did now see the current stock list which is better than what was originally posted. BTW if you don't like convects Sajicas are a very good looking alturnative (if you are familiar with them) however a mute point now. Somthing to keep in mind for the future if the situation ever comes up again.
