Chocolate Cichlid (Hypselecara temporalis)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Your chocolates are beautiful. What size tank are you housing them in? hope to be able to add more eventually.
Thanks. They are in a 7x2x2.
I may have to find a home for one of the pairs eventually as I have other fish and I may need more room as these grow.
At the moment both males are around 9 or 10 inches and the females about 5 inches.
I also have 8 tapajos geos a couple of p, scalare pairs and a true parrot cichlid.
I have no problems with aggression but I don't want things to become crowded.

The lighting is dark but that's part of why I took these.

I have had Choco Loco the pig since Dec, 2020 and this shows how much he/she has grown since. H_Temporalis_growth.png

Nice. Yours is looking a bit chunkier than mine. I got mine Sept 2020 at a little scrawny 3" or so. It's now a little over 6". The little bugger has taken a liking to Odessa Barb flesh too! It's eaten two so far by my reckoning.

Mine does eat guppy dithers when it gets the chance. Mine does look to be 1in+ thick.
