I like small fish so would be Florida male dollar sunfish which I find has nice color or the Florida brown darter esp in breeding color which is not the case here .

It would be a huge aquarium, but I would say a New Mexico striper.

No. I'd like to know where you read that at. :D

I collect them in temporary drainages when I'm bored. We don't have brackish water here in MN...so, yep. I house them in primed tap water and lots of live plants.

I read it on some site dont recall which one when I was interersted in them few yrs back .
Thought at min required brackish water and had a very narrow temp requirement.

Would have never thought they were found in pure fresh water .

What temps do you house them at and what do you feed them?

thanks

Keep in mind, there's more than one kind of stickleback. Most are brackish or euryhaline species, and at least one is strictly marine; I believe the brook stickleback, which is the kind found in MN, is the only strictly freshwater species.

Ah most are brackish ok that makes sense. I looked in to them few yrs back. Guy selling them said brackish and limited temp requirement. Seemed rather delicate thus opted not to.

Now I understand . Had no idea any true freshwaters till Wattamelon mentioned it.

Thanks
