Christmas Cichlids! Anyone getting any?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my experience as well. The wild caught Vieja Argentea I got has smashed itself into every wall of the tank for the last 3 days when someone comes within 20 feet. Hasn't eaten yet either. In a 90 gallon qt tank by himself in the garage.:irked:

All I want for Christmas is my fish to eat!:(

sorry to hear that :(

^^ Im not stessing too much yet, because he is a stunner for sure, but there is no way he'd survive a day in my community in the state he's in right now. He's started swimming around a lot more today, but I have to sneak into the garage with the lights out to not freak him out. As long as I can get him to eat I think he'll be fine. I have patience in spades when it comes to fish.....

time will tell, but as of now, he's not going into the big tank for at least 2 or 3 weeks the way I see it. Thinking positive though. My Freddy took 2 months in qt to acclimate and now she's one of the most social fish in our big tank.

I picked myself up eight Pink-Tail Chalceus and seven Guianacara geayi today for Christmas. :headbang2

Are you serious? Who did order from? Hope everything gets fixed and you get ur fish

I went in with Driftwood on this order and for some reason the shipping type got screwed up. Instead of next day fedex processed it as 2 day economy which means two business days. So what was supposed to arrive today is scheduled to be delivered on the 27th. I'm not going to name the seller but he is trying to get fedex to get the box delivered to us tomorrow. Driftwood has some cool fish that are supposed to come in and I have some Laetacara Dorsigera that will hopefully all arrive alive.

no movement and they can see me from the tank so they know im there. It is just when i stand up, sometimes i will pull a chair up and just sit infront of the tank hoping they realize im not a threat, and the grammode will stick just his eye out of his cave, check me out for about 5 seconds then go back to hiding. Pretty much a big ole cocktease (pardon my french).

:) merry christmas everybody! "Oreo", the argentea ate a piece of market shrimp and some cucumber and hasn't eaten his two tetra tank mates. And he's' feverishly moving sand from one side of the tank to the other. I guess I got my christmas present after all!

Sweet! Would love to see a picture of him.

Try keeping the lights off for a couple of weeks then slowly keep them on for a few hours at a time. this helps them get used to the new suroundings.

My fiance got me two little gorgeous blue rams. A male and a female ready to pop with eggs. :) I'm feeling pretty good. That makes three new fish this month.
