There is a thread some where in here where Wes talks about it alittle im pretty sure. They are in a protected river system which makes it really hard. And its deep in the forest. Good luck. Im sure we would all love some fogo.

Try searching pictures of fisherman that have caught this species sometime these men be on fishing forums and you could maybe get info from them

i believe they are protected and have not yet turned up in lfs or any industrie i also lead to believe the is only one western person allowed to go fishing for them with a science grant

its solid cliffs on one side with dangerious rapids and head hunting locals on the other side i alsowas talking to a gent who said he will pay 5,000 australian each for some so there is the taking for some deligtfull young chaps willing to risk death and limb

head hunting locals lol i got bigger guns then they do jk they might just be there holy grail too hence the protection but somebody is leading fishing tours in that area so access is there i think they are just being kept back till the market runs its coursekels are still hot and they are making money of of them the are just saving the best for last is all

there has got to be public access to fogo somewhere, on google you can look at thousands of pictures of fisherman with fogo in their hands or hanging from a line. maybe that particular region is protected but there have got to be others. thanks for all the help guys, i will keep concentrating my efforts on finding these beautiful creatures. when i do, my stepsons and i will be traveling where ever we have to in order to capture fogo. and you better beleive we will be bringing some back if i front that kind of dough and time n' effort. thanks for the input guys, keep it coming !!!! go hard or go home

I think I copied a pic of a map that Jose posted awhile ago I will see if I can dig it up
