Was gonna pick up some regular farmies to grow out in my 90 (eventually 1-2 would go in the 240 that'll be set up in Dec.), problem is pH is high maybe 7.8-8 because it use to be an african peacock tank so I added crush coral and mixed into the gravel to keep the pH high and constant. Do you guys think they will thrive ok in this high pH? I'm thinking if they're captive bred farmies they should be hardier to different pH's.

It's possible but I don't recommend it personally.

a bunch of driftwood works great for lowering your ph

Thanks guys. I'll try to lower it if anything, I'll post pics of the farmies when I pick them up. Though I'm sure most of you don't wanna see farm bred occells and monos haha.

What is the best ph?? Mine is at 7.6
For cichla? The lower the better. 6-6.7 is ideal. Mine's at 6.5

It's all opinion and preference. The instructions say 7.3 - 6.0. But I feel it's what ever you can provide them comfortaby and consistantly imo... I keep mine in the 6.0 6.5.
