I'm totally gonna have my buddy bring back a goldfish or something, just to see how it goes. He goes to Hong Kong about 3 times a year, but its around a 13 hour flight, plus a layover in San Francisco which will make it around 20 hours. So I'll have him try a cheap fish to see how it does before I import something radical.

are you in the US?
i know some members have done it,but when i had my dad try to bring fish into the US (hes a pilot),they stopped him everytime he reached the airport and searched him...
he didnt even bring any fish there,he just asked if he could.:irked:
maybe its cause hes not american or something.

Well.. the US. TSA customs are notorious for checking fish that are consider invasive species... almost 100% of the time if they find a luggage with a fish.. they will contact FISH AND GAMES dept... i would hate to have that happen to me....

Yeah, I'm in the US. I've been talking to my buddy more about it. He thinks he may actually know an importer or at least someone who would be able to import fish for me.

Obviously this wouldn't be for illegal fish. There's always that dream of having an asian aro in your tank, but I don't want anyone to risk going to jail over a fish. It's not that important nor is the risk even really worth it. But having a contact in Hong Kong that could hook me up on some nice deals on rarer fish might be nice.

IMO any rare fish you find in the US will be cheaper than compared to in HK.

I see. Well, its still worth an investigation. It sounds like I'll be going back to the fake watch route, though. haha.
