Anyone think this is a valid statement? Yes.

As it is you four are the only legit resource we have. Except for D Mack but not all of us are in contact with him on a regular basis like a few of you are. I think it is best that if there isn't any data or valid points being mad by the others then they should not post in this thread. I have only been in the game a year. I have learned a tremendous amount of information about the Cichla but I feel no where near the amount of facts and data of Joey,Boost,Mjuniorc, or Sabatoge. So if it is just you four then I feel like that is the way it should be and the rest of us should read and learn. As I see it the majority of The Cichla Clan have lost a lot of Cichla or are just starting over or somewhere in the nieghborhood of my experince. Again thank you to all the for mentioned names for contributing your vast amount of knowledge and insight on the topic of Cichla and your contibution to this thread. I feel all of you have your strong points. I have disagreed with some past statments only because of my own personal experince thus far but I am just a novist compared to all of you four. I will chime in as I am reading every post made here. Sometimes over and over just to soak it all in.

Also I would like to add if you have not raised or kept Cichla up to adult size succesfully then you may just want to monitor this thread to keep down on the false truths so to speak. I have personlly not lost any Cichla in my short time of keeping them and I intend to keep it that way buy following the advice of of the four mentioned named above. Again thank you all.

okay... i will further introduce myself.... everyone knows me as "JUNIOR" my friends call me "MIKE" you can call me either one, as all of you fellow MFK'RS are my friends as well!!:)

as far as my knowledge with CICHLA... i myself still needs to know more!!
i first discovered CICHLA "peacock bass" on the hunt for big fish television show.. and since then i always dreamed to go fishing for them... soon after that i found a website called YOU-TUBE... and found more vids on them... from SCOTT a.k.a DIESELMACK.... i gotta say his MACKED OUT VIDS were SICK:headbang2.... but i did not know they were on the market as of yet (cichla)... so, i did alot of research on them because of different variant's i have seen and was curious on how it was capable to keep them in aquariums.... because i knew i wanted some!!!

my knowledge... is little for now... but just like tongue & boost... i still need to collect some more info myself... but i believe i threw a good amount of READS... for all of you.. to WARM up TO!!;)
well further reviewing water parameters.... all cichla love soft water and seem to thrive way more better is soft water.. Ph,readings as low as 6.2... as having low Ph.. also increases the color on any variant of sp. out there!
we all know cichla can come in all shapes and colors.. which keeps me on my toes .... but there are different ways of trying to identify CICHLA... depending on SPECIES... one way is RESEARCH and alot of it!!! i know all of us or most of us is lazy to read about them but i believe its the best way to keep u aware...

"THATS WHY I WANNA THANK TONGUE FOR THIS THREAD... BECAUSE THIS WILL GIVE YOU ALOT OF INSIGHT WITH CICHLA THAT WE ALL NEED!!! MUCH LOVE BRADDAH;)...."

well i want to further address my knowledge... but i have to run... to my DR. APPOINTMENT:(... so will continue this converstaion later...:D

expierience's with orinocensis @ JUVINILE STAGES.. through maturity...

tips to the trade for ORINOCENSIS... head shape has more diagnal slope eyes are bigger color is yellowish.. markings: diamond in the middle, tails vertical line is BOLD BLACK with GOLD OUTLINE... between 5-7inches.. you will see greenish/yellowish spangling and red eyes start to blaze inn.... 9-12 the greenish sheen starts to come on....;) rosettes develop as ORINOCENSIS matures....

Colors are hard for many reasons.. As most of the species can show bluw tints on the fins.. Monoculus show this color often. I would wait til the fish is around 6-10" to denote the colors.. as even then they will still continue to change ;0

very true, my 4-5" monos are developing a nice tail spot and blueish tints in their dorsal and tail fins.
