Huuuummm interesting. They look nothing like Orinocensis to me. But what do I know? Head and body shape are dead on. But at this size uuuhhhh IDK.

Interesting looking. Looks like it will have a lot of yellow undertone.

Hey laz and HCR this guy was supposed to be collected somewhere in the Orino and has the gold actually i think more than the pic Jose showed and i love the way he looks but he is the cockiest punk i have ever kept do you think color has to do with collection point or just luck of the Draw on coloration????? What do you guys think ...

Interesting, Orino with diamonds instead of circles

Both. Certain locale/populations will have coloration that may be more common or pronounced to given population, BUT get any batch of baby cichla and you'll always have a few that differ from their siblings in one regard or the other....Color variation/intensity being the more common trait that may vary within a clutch.

Am I the only one who thinks the rio metas look better at 7-8" than these current rio cusianas? I was all exited until I saw the pics....

I agree. I had plenty of these yellow-based orinos with diamond markings. Not very appealing, so I got rid of them...

I'm kind of thinking the same thing, they are definitely different which in itself makes them interesting but I think I prefer the Rio metas to be honest

Did you keep any of the pics you had of your J? I would love to see them.

Hulon I agree the one you posted is what I think what were all looking for. If I do get any it will be just for pure contrast to my stock,(My goal for this year)! One or two of these wouldn't be bad. He has some smaller ones very limited is what he say's but $55.00 ain't bad.

I also have the new guy's who are looking very promising so...... we will see.
