Cichla pinima for R1

I spoke to DonH about the one he had from back when and he said it was a mean as SOB. Even the one PTC has you can see the attitude. While all his Pbass somewhat cruise around in one area the Pinima is cruising by itself not wanting to do associate itself with the group.

Really curious how the ones from Rapps will turn out. I hope they will get along with the current Pinima I have.

Over the years I have had a lot of pinima, and they all are in a league of there own. I feel that they, and temensis, are "different" from other Cichla. In fact, I have even speculated that based on various features, behavior being just one of them, that these fish should be in a different genus altogether. I have gone as far a to have in-depth discussions about this with a well-know ichthyologist who works with Cichla and other Neotropical fishes...mostly cichlids...and he has taken an interest in this idea, as it is one that he has shared for some time as well. I have seen no difference between the aggression levels with pinima or temensis...they are both equally brutal on tankmates!!
 
Im def. gonna be on the lookout for some Tems or Pinimas when they come available. They are just awesome
