Cichla Questions.

Here's your mature answer.


At that size, depending on their growth rate, I wouldnt give u a actual time frame. However I say, for 2-3 cichla, you can keep them there till 10". Then, upgrade tank size or sell em.

It's not unreasonable to expect them to be about 15" in the first year. I'd give them a year in a 125.

None for life. A 125 is 18" wide, after a year of growth most bass average around 12", after 6-7 more inches of growth it wouldn't be able to turn around, not to mention it would get a curved spine.

Your comment was not very kind, and that came after I had helped you! I own a 300 gallon and only have 3 bass in it. I just wanted to help, not be called names! :( Please be more careful with your blanket statements, it's not a matter of him, or me, or anyone else 'taking it that way' when the post that got a reaction stated 'every', especially when it's in all caps.
 
unless you already bought a 125g just go with the 72x24x24.. same length but, the 24 width will allow you to keep the fish to bigger sizes.
 
I have a 125 lying around so I figured i'd use it. I have a 300 gallon that isn't set up yet. Still getting the filtration and everything set up. Thinking about setting up the 125 growing them out in it (probably pick up like 3-4 juvies) and then switch them over to the 300 gallon once they get to proper size.
