Cichla Sao Francisco

Unfortunately, there's no petstores this way out in western MD. The closest petco/petsmart is close to an hour away.. I'm stuck with a super walmart. Stopped by there yesterday, thought it was odd & kinda cool that they have juvenile blue channel catfish. picked one up and voila! today my bass have ich. lol all good though, im all but familiar with ich. Bumped up the temperatures, bass are still eating well. mix of blood worms and sinking carnivore by Hikari

well, I assume because of the name it came from Sao Francisco River, in Brazil. First time coming into the US
 
Not the first to be imported to the U.S. Is the banned lifted to import cichla from Brazil? That's why I ask if it was imported from Asia.

ohh that's what you were asking. Hopefully Wes can chime in about that.

Right now they're on a mixture of blood worms and pellets (slowly upping the ratio to full pellets). I'll post some more pictures when substrate goes in and when they're more adjusted
