singpore has produced some "kelrino" and some occelaris/orino hybrids, that's about it.
These fish did not come from Singapore and not available in Singapore at this moment.
As you all know, asia gets first pick due to their ability to buy large lots of fish and high priced fish. They moved over $500 thousand dollars worth of kelberi bahia after the initial pair produced. While in the US, sometimes I have trouble moving 100 pcs of xingu around., and our country is far larger than Japan, Taiwan, Singapore together. Of course, now the new contender is China, they're the 2nd wave of buying., they will buy what people in Japan and Taiwan are after, and once they buy, there will be non left for anyone else.
no, there is no lift on the ban for cichla out of Brazil. It is illegal to export out of Venezuela. Peru only have plain jane peacock bass. Colombia is where all the Rio meta this and that come from. Suriname is where you get Brokopondos. That's about all the choices you have. I cannot say for certain what the origin is for these fish, I just go by what is invoiced, since I am told these have never been exported I will take their word for it. These fish are not the same as scatocephalus's sao francisco kelberi, I'm almost certain. and they're not like the aruguai kelberi that Singapore had a few months ago. I have even more stuff up my sleeve...just not sharing right now.
What is to be desired is still out there, so much more that we cannot get or don't have. Its not all about kelberi. When Bahia first became available, they were the hottest fish out there, and they are still one of the prettiest fish out there. but now there are many more around, people want something different. I bet once if I get 1000 sao francisco kelberi, people will no longer want them either, after 6 months...people. People remind me of sardines...
