Cichla sp. "Maica Lake"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
NICE PICS ;) its nice seeing so many people getting the chance at new cichla that were just a few years ago almost nearly impossible to get ...hopefully most who get them dedicate the time into them and raise them out properly...it will be nice to see some sub-adult and adult pics in the future:grinyes: hats off brain for breaking the mold and offering so many cichla to newbie keepers...it can only help and offers up some diversity out there. I am personally out of cichla buying and focusing on growing out my guys to their fullest as the become so much more of a fish once over the 20" mark and its like having something all new......untill some intermedia hit the pavement...then maybe a new batch of macked bass will begin again:D they are pretty much all I look forward to these days...dont get me wrong..a ton of nice pbass out there...just one of my personal favs.
good job brian:thumbsup:

So are you saying that some of these pbass are basically hybrids and/or crossbreeds?? If that's the case, then i think I'd rather keep FH's?!! :uhoh:
No Sir, that's not what I am saying at all. Actually, what I meant by "between a monoculus and temensis" is that they seem to be genetically between them. Also, pheotypically speaking, they share some traits found on monoculus and some from the temensis-types (which are now generally reffered to as sp. "lower amazonas"). Keep in mind, true temensis...like those found in the Rio Negro, upper Amazonas, and Colombia and Venezuela are far, far, far away from any azulish-type Cichla

Is that more clear? Seriously, let me know, as I don't want people to be mislead about these fish :)
