cichla xingu

 • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
cichla xingu in brazil free
cichla xingu sold by local fisherman, probably a penny or less
wholesalers selling to exporters, maybe a dollar
importers=exporter adds a premium + shipping fees + doa maybe $20 a fish?
importers mark up, death while in tanks, employees, and they have to make a living sells for maybe $75?
then the fish gets re-exported, to japan, korea, indonesia, europe, usa., wherever, more cost on top.

people dictate the price.

people who've bought from me in the past know that I'm fair with the price, but if the item is limited, then people can offer as much as they want for the fish, I don't make people buy the fish. hope that can ease the nerves of people who can't sleep thinking that there are fish that cost 500 each out there.

remember, asian arowanas, are produced by the thousands monthly in farms across asia, and people still pay thousands for them. that is also a reason why the nice fish never hit the U.S. shore. I can go on and on, but I'll stop here.

the last Japanese price were $80-$150each.

Now it is very difficult to obtain them as long as the law of Brazil is not changed.

too bad even when i was there, I was not able to buy any, they were there for a day and then all gone! how many were there imported?

Hi, What is a fair price for a 4" cichla xingu? No I don't have one. I'm thinking about making a offer on some and wanted to know what you thought would be a fair price. Thanks

If you ask such question, forget about offering. Economic 101 - Supply vs. Demand! :D Hobby 101 - Price vs. Desire. :D MFK 101 - Rare fish vs. Guppy :D

One time I was asked to leave by store manager after giving multiple offers on a "Quantum of Solace" 007 limited edition watch.
If you have money, go for it. Don't let one person buy them all !
XINGU will become a MONOPOLY game. You will never see them again in the market. Talking about some rich collectors. :naughty:

If you were not going out at night for pleasure, they should have been carried to the United States:D

30pc x 2 times from Eoupian exporter.

Probably there should be over 200 - 300 in Japan.

agreed, a fish is only worth as much as you value it. My friends who aren't into the fish keeping hobby think im crazy for paying more than $35 for a single 2" fish. It all comes down to how much you want it. if I had the choice of 6-7 orinos or a single xingu, I wouldn't hesistate to take the orinos. Its all about personal preference.
