So C. amazonarum has this further identifying characteristic not found in bimaculatum.

E. Several rows of scales entering both the dorsal and anal fins.

Nice clear pic of bimaculatum here: https://www.reabic.net/journals/bir/2020/1/BIR_2020_Robins_etal.pdf

This is what I was trying to see in mine, do these look like the rows of scales?? Anyway I will try to get a clearer picture.

And yes, nice clear pictures in that article, the scale patterning behind the head actually looks the same as mine now...

In your first picture, it looks like the scale pattern is directly under the tail spot and extends a little beyond it.

In your third picturec it looks like the scale pattern has gone into the dorsal

So here is another picture that is a bit clearer, I am seeing those scales ( I think) in the dorsal fin , but only the posterior part. But probably confirmed as C. amazonarum?

Interesting fish! Isn't she xanthic rather than axanthic? (I thought axanthic was lacking yellow pigment but I could be wrong). Have you had offspring from her and if so how did they turn out?
I always thought xanthic was the same as axanthic. She's more like leucistic but I've always heard her described as axanthic. I was never able to raise offspring from her before her mate died, but the other guy who bred them found that they breed true.
