dude, dont mate him with a fh, it will just make a really ugly 1. ur guys so cool and unique as it is, why add the most common hybrid in to the mix. mate him with a texas, or a jag, or a red terror, or a midas, or a jack dempsey, or a umbee or dovi, or some other sick hybrid, just dont breed him with a fh!

i say try an umbee if u got the tank, and if they have close enough genes. but the coolest would be to beed him with a tex x jag.

and hell if you do mate him with another hybrid, in a way ud be creating a new species of fh.

Cool looking fish. The possibilities are wide open for mates. Some pearling would look nice.

Look like he read your comment fishloverblake... I had to take him out of the tank, cause he was beating the fh very bad.
Its not very usual to find hibrids were I live, so the possibilitys to breed him with another unique hybrid are quite low...
For now I´ll keep him seperate, when he get bigger maybe i can tell if its a he or a she and then try to mate him with something. Thanks for the suggestions

I almost forgot about this topic

The fish in the older photos is dead... Jumped out of the aquarium and my dogs killed it
I went to the LFS and they still had a few So I bougth another one.
When I put him near the FH he didnt show any special interest and 2 weeks have passed.
A few days ago hes colours become brigther and he started to dance to the FH.

So i take the dividir out to see what would happen and the FH didnt tolerate him. I think is to small for her

I put back the divider net and a big plate in the midle. Even if the FH lays eggs maybe hill fertilize some from the other side

I think the other one I had was a female, cuz this little guy is starting to show a little bump in the head that is getting bigger and bigger and he have half the size of his brother that didnt show none.
He changed colour again. Now hes with the matting colours

Im power feeding both and doing daily water changes. Monday Im gonna increase the temp to see if the FH gets also in the mood.

Well i forgot to update about the spawn but since all the eggs were white, you havent lost nothing

2 months have passed and hes getting bigger and bigger
The hump didnt come out like I was hopping but no problem...

Sorry about the crappy photos, but he only comes out of hes hole to feed and try to gets in the female FH atention and you can see by hes fins, that havent happened yet
