I have a 16"+ Pearsei great fish and is very peaceful a stunner.

sounds like that one fits into what i want with regards to size.
how big do bocourti get?

well if pearsi have a gentler temperament then that is what i will go for. its just so damn hard to make up my mind between the 3 cos they are all extremely nice, i suppose i could sacrifice 2 of my pictus and have 1 chocolate as well but i have a feeling i may be pushing the cichlid stocking too much with 4 uaru, 1 pearsi, 1 blue acara and 1 chocolate cichlid in a 5x2x2.
if i had that 2nd tank i would have them all lol.

there's also the option of bay snooks, but you would probably have to move the acara, which would get eaten eventually. They are pretty placid, especially for CA cichlids

thanks for the suggestions guys but im not into snooks much, their look isnt for me.
so would:
4x uaru A
1x pearsi
1x chocolate
1x blue acara
be pushing the cichlid stock a bit much in a 5x2x2?
i suspect it may be too much but you dont know if you dont ask.

i also thought about an O but i know they can be some what bi-polar and its very random as to whether you get a wimp or demon.
i think im gonna go with either:
Pearsi - CA
Chocolate (Tempolaris) - SA
Bocourti - CA or SA? and depending if someone can give me actual info on their experiences with this fish as the net seems to be as unreliable as ever when it comes to info.
thanks again guys :)

i tried a Pearsi with me Uaru and it did NOT work at all !!!! they tend to get fairly Agro as they get some size on them. i would do the Chocolate if i were you.

(of course every fish is different)

Bocourti are stunning and i have thought of moving the Uaru out to get some but i just can't part with them.
