there goes my guesses

exCichlasoma festae (Boulenger, 1899)
Parachromis friedrichsthalii (Heckel, 1840)

It's not a festae. It's a mayan cichlid, or exCichlasoma Uropthalmus. Which are really pale compared to a real Festae.

When we drove by Lake Yojoa, stands like this were lined up and down the road. The fish farmers there have large suspended floating nets in the lake where they were farming Tilapia. The bad news was that as these Tilapia bred in the nets they would release the fry which would fall through the net and populate the lake wit the non-endmic species. The fish in the photo are Uropthalmus, Fredrichsthali, Loiselle, and various (your guess is as good as mine) Tilapia. I am certain there were Managuense in the lake..also introduced and not endemic...but not in that photo.

Ugh, that's awful about the escaping fry. That must have been an amazing trip for you. Have you been down a few times or was this your first time in the region??

OK, well, I guessed the uro so I'm going to take the liberty of posting the next pic...

It's pretty easy, but I"m at work and this is the only pic I have available right now.
