I am not buying large quantities (13 oz n above), so im not getting it online becuz shipping are ridiculous. Im most likely going to buy from petsmart. Right now it looks like i might be getting bio gold. Pls continue voting as i might only get the pellets next week or the week after next!!

My cichlids love omega one cichlid pellets. They literally go crazy over it. Not that they don't like their Hikari, it is just completely different. Like a frenzy.

This might be the wrong hobby for you. Giving your money in larger quanitities for less product over short periods of time is a more expensive way to purchase products. OR, you have lots of disposable income and can afford to spend frivelously!

For instance:
Hikari Cichlid Gold - $13.49 for 8.8 oz. This comes out to $1.53 per oz (not including tax)
http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2754931

New Life Spectrum - $55 (delivered) for 5lbs (80oz - 5lbsx16oz). This comes out to $.69 per oz (delivered). This is more than 2x cheaper than Hikari.

Omega One cichlid pellets - $7.29 for 6 oz. This comes out to $1.22 per oz (not including tax)

Simple math says the NLS bulk pail is by FAR the smarter buy.

If you want some decent food try Omega One or NLS. If you want cheap in small quantities, just buy whatever's the cheapest generic brand available, it's going to be the same cornflake recipe as Hikari. I feed my cichlids Omega One pellets and occasionally give them a pinch of cheap crap pellets as a treat.

If you knew what my situation is you would do the same.
