hey guys i'm setting up a cichlid tank and was wondering how i can make some caves for the tank for the fish, anything i can get at a hardware store would be good fire away

Terra cotta flower pots are the go-to, but you can use large PVC pieces, or any other non-soluble material. I like thin pieces of slate from landscaping lots. They cost pennies and can provide enough cavework for tons of fish if done nicely.

No, that's why they are liked. They also are great for adhering eggs to, and they are cheap.

You could also use coconuts, makes for a more natural looking cave.

As long as you get all the meat off it and boil it for a few hours no it does not.
