They grow like weeds !!!!!! Get a veggie clip too. Makes it easy to feed romain lettuce pick up some veggie based pellets imo nls algaemax is top notch omega one kepl is ok too. I would really take time and get the fish hooked on veggies it will help condition it to ignore the chopped up fish

Used to go through this every time i tried to feed the polys pellets.
Had to eventually rehome the L600 was beautiful but the pearsei named Hulk by my son is their fav. Pearsei just would not stop harassing the L600 during feedings and thats one pleco that shouldnt be messed with (covered in spikes) they would get into brawls and the pearsei would come out looking like he went through meat grinder. Old vid was much smaller.
They are very bland looking when young but when their color pops...man they look great

Yeah hes nuts man hasnt shown any signs of slowing down either, not agressive to polys though always had issues with other cichlids and plecos. He would pick up my L200 (rip) and move him away from the romain.
They do grow fast like vancouver said. Him about 18 months ago maybe 2.5 inches

Keep in mind i kind of under fed him his whole life. Had i not he'd probably be bigger. Not an expert by any stretch of thw imagination but did allot of research on them and spike to allot of keepers and the main issue with them is controlling how much they eat and feeding them correctly. Saw a few threads of these beefed up pearsei but after a few years they start developing health issues attributed to improper diets. I plan on keeping this guy for as long as possible so i always stressed his diet.
Yeah pearsei are just unremarkable little silver fish when they're little... Mine is just starting to develop the colored patch on it's side but it got fat FAST
