cichlids eating my newbies

i brought a nice albino oscar which the people at the shop told me he was fine cause he was bigger than the cichlids, bala shark thats like 6-in long, 2 puffers seem okay but scared as hell, smaller cichlid he is fine. bala and albino are having problems i paid 120 for both of them and i'm mad cause now the albino oscar is dead and chewed up. The JD are picking on the bala and im trying to figgure out which fish to get rid of i tried to take them back but no can do brought isolation tank just incase anything happens.

well get 2 tanks one for africans ( 55 gallon ) and one for teh SA/CAs (75 gallon ) then ull be fine or get rid of the CA or africans ( dont now what one u like the most )

Probably shouldn't mix africans with SA/CA cichlids

$120 sounds like a lot of dough for those 2 fish to me...

That is a HORRIBLE mix of fish. Death is the only thing I could think of while reading your post. Lucky for the other fish the Oscar was just a baby. You need at least three different tanks temperament wise to help this situation. Fish speak different languages like humans, and just alike you will have to use caution when mixing as misunderstandings are bound to happen....

not sure whethet that puffer is a good mix for either type of cichlid. They can be big time fin nippers.

yeah, you honestly need to either buy a couple more tanks to separate the africans from the oscar and from the puffer, or return a few fish back to the store and not listen to their advice anymore, ever. sorry to burst your bubble, but as you see those fish are NOT compatible and those employees were more worried about making money than being honest.
