cichlids eating my newbies

Alright... I read the post and looked at the pictures, my headache has now reached blinding pain...


You got ripped off, hardcore... Thats like $30 worth of fish you paid $120 for, their advice was bad, they were only out to make money, or they just didn't care at all...


Id read a lot of posts here, keep the African Cichlids and get rid of everything else... kinda.... Start over...

okay tell me what fish to get rid of or group together. EX "get rid of photo 1 and 3 or photo 3 and 4 keep together or put in a separate tank". the only names i know in the tank is the 2 jack dempseys, bala shark, zebra cichlid, puffer, texas cichlid, nimbochromis livingstonii

id keep only the African cichlids myself.


I thought you said you paid $130 for ALL of your fish (Still a rip off)... The Oscar (White fish that was beaten up) is about $5, the Bala shark, maybe $10 or so.


If you can, i would take back EVERYTHING... If you paid $120 for those two fish then im sure you paid way too much for everything... Get your refund. Come back here, and read... Were a nice bunch and we'll help you out, and my HONEST best suggestion is return everything and get all your money back that you can, see if you can get money for the Oscar too (Dead fish its their fault for being lazy/dumb) and sit down and learn about some fish.


I would suggest after thats done, look into African cichlids, decently easy to care for, nice fish, nice colors.

The fish that go together are-

Africans
Blue fish in pic 1
Striped fish in pic 2
Splotchy (livingstonii) and striped in pic 3
Splotchy (livingstonii) in pic 4
Blue guy in pic 6

Central/South American
Oscar in pic 1
Jack dempsey's (2) in pic 2

Odd balls are the puffers. The plecos can go with anyone. I don't see any texas'.

I'd get rid of the bala, puffers, and jacks. Keep the africans and plecos.

huge rip off, and why there are balas and puffers and 2 types of cichlids? Might as well add soem goldfish too, complete the spectrum.

just keep only africans. Maybe you can keep one large ca/sa cichlid with the africans. I have seen some large green terrors do good in african tanks. But I wouldn't recommend that without plenty of experience.

JUST KEEP THE AFRICANS or get rid of allt he africans and try to keep a couple of the sa/ca if the tank is more than 75.

no buddy, the tank is 75g and the fish that was beat up was this one and i paid 55 for him and and 45 for the bala

the fish that attacked the albino oscar was the fish in photo 3 and 8.

I would start over myself, but Modest_Man pretty much hit the nail on the head. I couldn't look at those pictures for long myself lol

lol i brought the tank from someone on craiglist....lol only fish i brought was the bala, oscar and puffer and picked the crab over the blue lobster....
