In the US, we eat beef....a lot of beef. In Hindu countries, cows are sacred animals!!

We set rat traps, while they build shrines to them, and we keep rover and fluffy, and they have cat and dog BBQs.

In Europe, horse and snails are delicacies!! In the Amazon, Iguanas, guinea pigs, and piranhas are on the menu.

Anywhere you go, you're likely to find a potential pet on the menu. It's particularly sad when you own/have owned that animal.

But, that's when you have to realize....people gotta eat.

In Asia, most fish that grow over 1ft are considered a food fish. I also hear a few large clown loaches wind up on dinner plates from time to time.

last year we had a party for my kids one of the parents was from thailand and when she saw my aro's she started telling me about when they used to catch them and eat them when she was younger.
what made me nervous was when she started talking to her husband about buying one for themselves so they could eat it when it got big enough.

What kind of arowana would they eat there?. I'm not sure what's close except Asian aro, nobody eats them because they are super expensive and endangered right?.

i have a silver and a jardini so not what they would eat but look similar.
she said that when they were kids, so im guessing about 30 years ago, they used to fish for food in a nearby river and would often catch aro's.
