Classic kids TV shows.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes it was on Saturday mornings. It had a kind of manga look to it .I loved it.
What about Vicky the Viking ? Do you remember that?
And you must remember the littlest hobo?

Not sure about Vicky the Viking, but I certainly remember the littlest hobo. On the theme of animals, this one was a favourite of mine too....

......and still with horses. This one has possibly the best theme tune of all time....

Agreed. Love the music to black beauty and I watched champion the wonder horse.

Check this out, you'll love this. The guy in the video is legend Denis Black, the guy who composed the Black Beauty theme! His party piece is to play his tune on the piano in a rather unorthodox manner, and as you can see he is hampered somewhat, lol.

My younger brother was once in the Peanut Gallery for the Howdy Doody Show. It was done live and i sat with my mom and dad to watch for him. That would have been in the mid 1950s. i watched this show as a kid.

But I like this a lot more. :naughty:

Oh and Stanzzzz7 Stanzzzz7 , I know you are a man who likes a tune, I believe that this tune is the number one theme tune to any TV programme, ever.

This show was filmed very local to where I lived as a lad. My aunties house was used in it for one episode, and my wife was in the show when she was 8 years old!!

I was hoping you'd pop in TwoTankAmin TwoTankAmin to give us a different angle on the kids shows of yesteryear.. I'm just surprised the television had actually been invented when you were a kid! Lol.

In Australia in the 1980s a lot of the kids shows on TV were British, I liked a lot of them but the one theme song that sticks in my mind is Grange Hill, i remember the credits were animated and someone stole someone elses sausage or something similar?

If you want an Australian kids show to track down (skippy doesnt count as no one watched it here) then try Simon Townsends Wonder World, similar to Jim'll fix it but without the paedophile host.

The Muppets
Inspector Gadget
Garfield
Heathcliff
Space Ghost
Transformers
He Man
Scooby-Doo
Flintstones
Woody Woodpecker
