Figure out a hourly rate, how much are you worth? My rate is $65 per hour for my freelance. Unless it's a regular gig then it gets bid as a flat rate.

I used to have a 2nd job taking care of tanks part time. Our rate was $63 an hour. We did everything to make you think they were our personal tanks. You would be surprised at how many people would rather pay than do it themselves. Most of them were rich and didn't care what you did with it, as long as it looked good. If it were me, just doing for a little extra money, I would have jumped on the 350. That's easy money.

.5 an hour /gallon or $100 an hour or gallon... it's a service and a person will only get what someone is willing to pay.

It's not common practice where I live for someone to contract to have their personal tanks cleaned not too many pay to have their dogs walked either though.

I could see where a person gets themseves into a spot where at times they need assistance keeping up. I know our house gets crazy sometimes... but I have always tried to make sure my kids love and respect their furries / finnies / scalies and enjoy taking care of them every bit as much as noodle-ing around with them. Even if they hit the powerball I would alway hope they take the time and enjoy the care their creatures need...
