Cleaning Of Glass Tops ....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Vinegar. All I have to do is wipe them down once a month maybe let a vinegar soaked rag sit on some tough spots, but no scrubbing or scrapping required.

Do you dilute with water? Or just soak paper towels or clean rags in straight vinegar and just let sit on the glass top?

I usually try to scrape with an alge scrubber to get the stains that I can feel with my fingers, but I know the hardwater stains are still there.

Any suggestions for acrylic tops?

I don't dilute it. I use it right out of the bottle. I soak baby wipes or paper towels. Leave them on really built up spots for 5-10mins and then wipe down. You can repeat as necessary.

I was just thinking about this thread yesterday when I did my water change and cleaned my glass tops. I even took pictures.

As you can see all that build up comes right off.
I never use blades or scrubbies of any kind on my glass tops. Just the straight vinegar, baby wipes, and paper towels.

I'll give it a go with straight vinegar next time. I use algae blade for the stuff i can feel...it has been ok with that or razor blades, but dont want to push my luck on the glass lids lol.
